Position:  Part-Time Alloy Beertender

Alloy Brewing is looking for a part-time Beertender to join the Alloy team!

Are we looking for you?  An Alloy Beertender must be customer focused, flexible, and love beer. Our Beertenders should be passionate, knowledgeable about the brewing process and/or have a passion to learn.

About Us: At Alloy, we feel there is a beer out there for everyone. You just might not have met it yet. We typically have 16-20 beers on tap with rotating seasonal beers, hard sodas and seltzers. We’re proud to be a two time Minnesota's Best Award winner in the categories of Best Brewery, Best Taproom, Best Beer Selection & Best Patio!

We are open Wednesday & Thursday 4-10pm, Friday from 2-11pm, Saturday from 12-11pm, and Sunday 12-8pm. (Hours and days are subject to change.)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exceed customer expectations and create lasting relationships with customers

  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and sustainable taproom environment

  • Recommend Alloy beers to guests

  • Be able to explain basics of our brewing process

  • Get to know the names of, and personally recognize regular guests

  • Accept guest payments, process credit card charges and make change (as needed)

  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the taproom throughout the shift, including counters, sinks, shelves, storage areas, sweeping, mopping, and clearing glassware from the bar and tables

  • Wash and sterilize our glassware, rinsing all beer glasses prior to pouring beer into them, and complete all additional shift related sanitation tasks as required

  • Routinely check the cleanliness of the bathrooms and provide restocking of supplies and cleaning as needed

  • Sell merchandise and manage inventory; assist in taking inventory and restocking items as needed

  • Attend and participate in all scheduled employee meetings

  • Maintain scheduled shifts, punch in and out as applicable

  • Bring your own suggestions and ideas for improvement. Alloy wants to hear your ideas, it’s the basis of what we do

Qualifications:

  • Be 18 years of age or older

  • Have a positive attitude and work well with other team members

  • Be approachable and social with Alloy’s guests and vendors

  • Be available to work as early as 2 pm and as late as 12am on some days

  • Must have ability to handle money and operate our point-of-sale system

  • Be able to properly pour beer, or learn the proper technique

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (6-8 hours)

  • Be able to work in a fast paced environment

  • Be passionate about what you do, and who you are

  • Be able to describe your favorite style of beer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past or current brewing experience, knowledge of the brewing process, or knowledge of craft beer

  • Previous bartending or taproom experience

  • Certified as a Beer Server, Cicerone, or Master Cicerone, and/or desire to become one
